Chihuahua (Long Coat)
Description:
Please read the pet description IN IT'S ENTIRETY before applying. Thank you for your cooperation.NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NEW INTAKE 1/14/2026: Oboe - male - DOB 5/11/2015 - 8.6 "fluffy" pounds - long-haired Chihuahua Reason for intake: We were contacted by the family of an elderly couple who needed to find a place for their little dog. The wife is in the hospital and the husband is heading to assisted living. I drove up to the house and was getting paperwork out of the vehicle when this little toot appeared. I did my "squeaky dog talk" and he came running towards me... ears flat... looking like he was smiling. What a doll! Anyway... I almost bypassed the rescue and headed to my house. LOL! He needs a few things done at the vet and then we'll post him for adoption. We learned a lot about him and it will all be in his write-up. Stay tuned! NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note… we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption. We will post him or her on Facebook in our Adoptable Dog Album pinned to the top of our page which you can follow at this link: https://www.facebook.com/share/1B46skRWF5/ OR you can keep checking our website at www.roadtorescuela.org. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding. “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” ~ Gandhi Be responsible ~ Always spay/neuter, keep your dogs on heartworm prevention, vaccinate against disease... and if you bring a pet into your life, commit to that pet for life. Blessings.
