Female Dog, Chihuahua
Chihuahua (Medium Coat)
Description:
Please read the pet description IN IT'S ENTIRETY before applying. Thank you for your cooperation.NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NEW INTAKE 3/10/2026: Lemondrop - female - DOB 6/3/2014 - 4.6 pounds - Chihuahua Reason for intake: Lemondrop came to us from animal control. She appears to have several deformities. Her front paws splay out and her toes don't seem to be connected??... Her rear left leg has drawn up into her belly area. We're not sure if that's from a severe luxating patella that was never addressed or if that is also a deformity. It really can't be addressed because her right rear patella is luxating and it is visible. So, aside from amputating the left limb... there's not much that can be done. Due to her age, amputation is not really an option. We are curious, though, if it's a deformity or from luxating patella and we'll have our vet do an x-ray. She also has a crooked tail. This little girl is like a little puzzle piece! She's heading to our vet the week of 3/16/2026 and we'll have more information soon. In the meantime, we are just loving on her little crooked self and making her feel at home. NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note… we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption. We will post him or her on Facebook in our Adoptable Dog Album pinned to the top of our page which you can follow at this link: https://www.facebook.com/share/1B46skRWF5/ OR you can keep checking our website at www.roadtorescuela.org. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding. “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” ~ Gandhi Be responsible ~ Always spay/neuter, keep your dogs on heartworm prevention, vaccinate against disease... and if you bring a pet into your life, commit to that pet for life. Blessings.
