American Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (Short Coat)

Description:

This wonderful sibling pair of Diego and Dora originally came into Safe Haven in 2021 when their owner suffered a disabling medical condition that left him unable to meet their needs. They were adopted and did fantastic in their new home for two years, but sadly had to come back in 2024 when the adopter had a change in his living conditions.Diego and Dora were born on April 1, 2017, and lived a great life with their original owner that loved them deeply, and he made sure to search for a no-kill shelter that would take them in and not only continue to provide a high level of care for them, but also pledge to keep them together. Diego and Dora came in completely vetted and up to date on everything - they had even spent time at a local boarding facility for doggie daycare, where they always received glowing reviews! Diego & Dora are quite the fun pair - they both have their own personalities, but compliment one another well. They are really just great dogs that enjoy meeting new people, even kiddos! Their original owner did let us know that they will need a home without cats though, because both dogs do have a very high prey drive. This can be witnessed when they see a rabbit or squirrel - so their ideal home will not have any small pets. This adorable pair really enjoy their walks, and are both great on a leash. Since both are somewhat larger-sized dogs, a home with lots of room to explore and a yard to run and exercise in would be great for these siblings. A fenced-in yard would be a huge bonus for them to keep them safe from giving chase to every bunny, squirrel or cat they see! Daily enrichment, exercise, and love (of course) are all part of their requests for their new home. Their original owner is still following their story all these years later - so please consider adopting these dogs and making his dream of them finding their way into a great new forever home a reality!
