Helloooo, my name is Missy and I'm estimated to be about 6 years old. I am a sweet, loving girl that is willing to do whatever pleases my people! I would make the best girl for any family because I am so friendly! I am pretty flexible so I could adapt to a family with kiddos or chill with an older couple too! I am friendly with other dogs!Right now, I am looking for a forever family or a foster home! Unfortunately, I came into the shelter as heartworm positive and I am waiting to undergo my heartworm treatment. I am being prepped for treatment with my antibiotics and am now on monthly flea/tick prevention to avoid re-infection, but I am to remain low activity as I go through this treatment. It takes a toll on my body, so my home must follow through with strict exercise restrictions (using crates and taking me on short, leashed walks) to prevent me from getting fatal blood clots. My heartworm is not contagious to other pets, so I can hang out with your current dogs if you have them, but I must not rough house with them. Don't worry! My heartworm treatment and any medication I need will be provided by the shelter! That is not any cost to my family or foster family!If you have any questions, please reach out and ask questions! My staff will be happy to see if you would be a good foster/adoptive home for me while I go through my treatment and recovery process. Since I am not being fixed until after my treatment is completely finished (this could be 3-4 months from now), I cannot go into a home with unfixed animals or be exposed to any unfixed animals.
