Description:
I'm Athena! I came into the shelter as a stray and my owners called and felt it was best they didn't reclaim me. True to my breed (shepherd mix) I have lots of energy and I'm very smart. That's part of the reason I ended up here. I kept getting loose, mostly breaking my tie outs. The lack of exercise and my need to expel my energy made for a dangerous situation because I kept getting bored and getting lose so my owners were afraid I would eventually get hit on the busy road they lived off of. I would prefer a home with a fence but this isn't a deal breaker if you are willing to train me (like I said I am very smart!) and be sure to give me plenty of exercise. Daily walks would be a must if you don't have a fenced in yard. I'm not the biggest on toys but I do like a good bone to chew. I had young kids in my home and I was happy living with them and I really really love other dogs (fenced in yard and another dog to run with would be my favorite!) I understand you will need to work and that's ok I am crate trained and speaking of trained I come potty trained! What more could you ask for, I'm young and willing to learn take a chance on me and you wont be disappointed. I will always make sure you get your daily steps in!!Give the shelter a call at (574) 267-3008 or email them at [email protected] if you have any questions about me! If not, stop by the shelter at 1048 S 325 E in Pierceton, IN 46562 to look at me! No appointments necessary!
