Female Dog, Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler

Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler (Short Coat)

Description:

**WE ARE NOT CURRENTLY TAKING APPLICATIONS FOR SHEILA. Meet Sheila! Sheila is an adorable 4-month-old Cattle Dog puppy with all the intelligence, awareness, and enthusiasm the breed is known for. Her greatest strength right now is how connected she is to her person. She's already showing classic Velcro Cattle Dog traits, keeping track of where her human is at all times. Her eye contact is fantastic, and she's eager to learn. She's just beginning her training and is already making great progress with basic skills like sitting, walking on a leash, and keeping all four paws on the ground when greeting people. Right now, she's so excited to meet everyone that she wants to launch herself into every hello, but she's very responsive to redirection and learning quickly. Sheila settles beautifully in her crate with very few interruptions and is doing wonderfully with her potty training. Sheila is not currently spayed, but will be before adoption. As you'd expect from a young Cattle Dog, Sheila has plenty of drive. She loves romping with the biggest dogs in her foster home, happily chasing them during zoomies. She reads other dogs well, respects their signals, and isn't a pest when they ask for space. Like all Cattle Dog puppies, Sheila will need continued training, structure, and appropriate boundaries as she grows. She's currently working on channeling her excitement in appropriate ways. If her foster mom isn't paying attention, Sheila may occasionally leap up and try to grab a shirt or fingers in play, but she's very responsive to guidance. The good news? She hasn't shown any interest in nipping at ankles—a definite bonus for a Cattle Dog puppy! Sheila is a bright, engaging little pup who will thrive with an active family committed to continuing her training. With consistency and positive guidance, she's going to grow into an exceptional companion. Please contact [email protected] if you have any questions about Sheila. *** The potential adopter will get a refund on the Application Fee if it’s determined by the Foster Parent that the foster dog is not a good match for the applicant, if we do not process their application.
