Male Dog, Boston Terrier

Boston Terrier / Staffordshire Bull Terrier / Mixed (Short Coat)

Description:

Flounder is quite possibly the cutest little itty bitty pocket pittie mix we've ever seen. His diminutive stature, large expressive eyes, heart-shaped nose, and domed head framed by little triangular ears combined with a snaggle-toothed underbite make this pint-sized pooch cute beyond comprehension. Pal's Place took one look at this guy at an overcrowded animal control facility in Kentucky and knew instantly we had to bring him into our foster program. Flounder made his way to animal control as a stray and was never claimed, so his background is unknown, but he is 30 pounds and estimated to be around 2 years old. Breed is also unknown, but he is almost certainly a mix of Terriers. Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Boston Terrier, and Pit Bull are guessed to be in his family tree. He's currently enjoying the love and attention of a devoted foster home in Chicago, but he'd love a home of his own soon. Flounder can be a bit bashful and demure when meeting new people and in new environments, but he does not take long to warm up. Given some gentle pats and kind words, within a few minutes, he's your best friend. After just a day or two in his foster home, he started to open up and show off his endearing and adorable personality. He loves to follow his people around the house in an adorable prance, curious and attentive to whatever activities his guardians are doing without being in the way or overbearing. When very excited, his prance turns into a tippy tap dance, usually paired with a giant grin on his face, making it nearly impossible not to love him. Flounder loves affection and is an expert snuggler. He likes walks around the neighborhood and enjoys a good romp in the yard but leans towards being a more mellow dude and is also pretty content just hanging out with his people most of the day. He is being fostered with other dogs and gets along well with everyone, but like most terriers, at times, he can be a little pushy with them and likes to be the boss, so a more submissive, laid-back dog will be most compatible with him. Flounder is quiet and well-behaved in the home, making him suitable for an apartment or condo dwelling. He's crate trained and does very well with his housebreaking when kept on a regular schedule. It doesn't seem like he's had much if any, training in the past and does not know any commands, so potential adopters should be prepared to teach him the basics. He's very eager to please, observant, and attentive, so we are confident he'll learn quickly. Sweet, sensitive Flounder is ready for his forever home. Come and meet him today! Flounder is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and heartworm tested. His adoption fee to the rescue is $375.
