Male Dog, Poodle (Standard)

Poodle (Standard) / Mixed (Short Coat)

Description:

Oscar is an approximately 1 year old male neutered poodle mix available for adoption. He’s current on vaccines, heart worm negative, and house-trained. He’s around 45 pounds. He was found abandoned in the woods next to a dead dog, and was brought to animal control. Oscar is a very smart dog, and like most puppies, he has a lot of energy. He was briefly adopted and returned for being too much for an older small breed dog in the home. I am looking for a home for him with someone who will continue to train him, and give him lots of exercise. Oscar goes to day camp to get his energy out and play with other dogs, and I would love to adopt him to someone who could continue to do that for him too. He is going to be an incredible companion for some lucky person… just need to find the right person. No cats, no young kids (he loves kids but think he might knock over a toddler). DNA analysis in photos. He is currently in an awesome foster home with someone with a lot of dog experience. Here are her thoughts about him: Oscar is a sweet bug who loves all types of dogs, but his frisky, spunky, outgoing personality can sometimes become overwhelming for other dogs (we have 2), but he is still learning. Also he goes to school (doggie daycare) and enjoys to be around all the dogs, sometimes he will be bark at them for attention but he can easily change his mind and walk away or just lay down.... (with discipline and repetition, all is possible). He's a very good loving dog, loves playing frisbee, chasing tennis balls, likes to cuddle after a run in the yard, but doesn't know too many commands yet (sit, paw, no, wait, so far) with tons of treats, of course. Oscar walks very well on a leash. He's not food aggressive and loves treats, which will definitely assist in learning commands. I think in addition to lovely parents, his furever home he will love to be as a solo child or with another puppy close to his age, since he loves to chase and be chasing. He is a pure free soul!
