Description:

A VERY ACTIVE & FUN FRIEND: Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 41 lbs. Hi there! My name is Winona! Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I am so happy that they are helping me on the journey to finding my new family! I got to spend some time in the prison/foster training program where I had a great time and learned many new skills which are reflected below but are harder to keep up when I’m at the shelter. The Mostly Mutts trainers will be happy to work with you to help us be very successful together. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I have had lots of supervised play interactions with dogs in the prison/foster training program & I am working on my self-control. I need help “turning it off,” but I am making progress with my trainer. If you have a dog at home that may be okay with my exuberant style of play, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I met a nice boy & a girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts & did some jumping. I have better control away from the shelter setting, so kids 10+ may be a good match for me. Let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I am a sweet, friendly girl with a fun & active personality. Affectionate playful, I will surely bring lots of love & good times to my new family. I’m pretty smart, & I seem eager to learn. I get to go on daytrips with some of the nice volunteers . . . parks, trail walks, the lake, kayaking . . . I love it all! I ride nicely in the car, lying down the whole time. If you’re not a trail person, maybe we could play lots of games in our fenced-in backyard, which I think I really need. In the prison/foster training program, I guard my crate, but I’m fine when they let me walk out on my own. I got to do an agility course at the MM training facility & had so much fun. My trainer said I was amazing, so maybe that’s my calling. We can even build one in my new backyard – let’s get to work! I’m really such a different dog away from the stress of the shelter . . . I hope I get the chance to show you! / My energy level is 10 so I need lots of exercise! • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands. I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners with my easy walk harness, as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts & in the prison/foster training program. I’m also a good girl out of my crate in the prison/foster training program. I just take a little while to settle but I haven’t bothered anything that wasn’t mine. / I have had good potty manners in the prison/foster training program. Some of the volunteers say I get distracted when I am on my walks so, please take me to a quiet place & make sure I do my business to help me not have accidents inside. Once I have a fenced-in backyard & a nice quiet space, I think I will do well. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love to play, & my favorite game is fetch, so grab a ball & let’s play! I really love those big plastic eggs & balls, too! Sometimes I make funny little growly noises when I play because I am so engaged. I love agility courses & staying active & engaged. I love splashing around in any body of water, riding in the car, & kayaking. Storms don’t even bother me. Soaking up affection makes me a happy girl, & I will freely give hugs & kisses in exchange for attention. Do you need a hug? / Other than dogs getting too close & the bath sprayer that scared me (maybe we can try gentle rinsing with a pitcher of water rather than a sprayer during my bath), I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, & training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped & spayed. I’m taking trazodone & fluoxetine to help with shelter stress. I hope that I can be weaned off these once I’ve settled into my new home & am getting lots of regular exercise. I am looking for home where I will be a much-loved family member & will continue to receive good training and exercise! My adoption fee is $299.00, & I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
