Female Dog, Shepherd

Shepherd / Mixed

Description:

LEARNING ABOUT THE GOOD LIFE: Approx. 1 year old / Approx. 45 lbs. Hi, I’m Marina! I came to Mostly Mutts through a nice family that helped me out of a tough situation, and I’m thrilled to be here learning what it means to become a family dog! Lots of things are new to me, but I’m adjusting well, and I look forward to the great life that awaits me. I got to participate in the prison/foster training program and learned a lot! Now I’m in a foster home, so I’ll be updated again soon. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I’ve met dogs at Mostly Mutts and was friendly with them and loved to play. I think I would really like a doggie friend in my new home to play with! So, if you have a very playful doggie at home already, that would be welcoming of a VERY energetic playmate, let’s meet and see if we can be pals. / Cats unknown. / I met children ages 6-10 years old recently at Mostly Mutts and I got nervous around them, so teens aged 15+ would likely be a better fit for me, let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: Everything was new to me when I arrived at Mostly Mutts, so it was quite the adjustment, but I sure am enjoying all the attention, good care and love I’m getting from the nice volunteers! I really like them and am friendly and very sweet with them. I’ve heard them say how wonderful I am too! I’ll very likely need some time to adjust in my new home since things are still very new to me, so I’m looking for a great family that will patiently introduce me to house sounds and smells, etc. I have been able to experience some of these new things in the prison/foster training program, and they say I’m doing great! I take correction well and I have learned quickly what belongs to me and what does not. Please also be alert to doors being secure so I don’t get outside and get lost. / My energy level is 8-10, so I’m looking forward to daily exercise with my family. I might also be a good candidate for doggie daycare! • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands. I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners using my easy walk harness as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. / My crate manners have been good in the prison/foster training program. / I’ve gotten used to the take-out schedule at Mostly Mutts and since then my potty habits have been good. Hopefully this will be the case in my new home too! • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love all the volunteers that come to spend time with me, and really enjoy cuddling with them! I also love going for long walks as it helps me get my energy out! I’m sure we will learn lots more things that I like as we get to know each other. / I wasn’t a huge fan of my first shelter bath, but I was sweet during it – simply tucking my head into the bather’s arm and chest. I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I’m looking for a great family that will take the time to show me how great indoor life with a family can be. My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
