Friends to the Forlorn Adopt-a-BullBreed: Pit Bull Terrier Gender: Male Estimated Date of Birth: August 18, 2015 Size: 65 lbs Location: Dallas, GA RESCUING JIGSAW Jigsaw was seized in a cruelty case in Macon-Bibb County. He weighed 26.8lbs on August 17th, 2017. Our vet said he should weigh a minimum of 45 to 50lbs. His body condition score was a 1 out of 9, one being the worst. He has some badly infected wounds and pressure sores that have ruptured to the bone. His actual hip bones have begun to pop through his skin. On top of being unbelievably thin, Jigsaw has hookworms, coccidia, and he is heartworm positive. He has lived his life on a chain and has developed some behavioral issues. His teeth are worn down to nubs from years of living on a chain and biting at rocks, usually out of frustration. ABOUT JIGSAW Although Jigsaw is a game bred pit bull and has lived his life on a chain, Jigsaw is sweet and happy to be around people. In true game dog fashion, he is extremely resilient and despite his condition, he is strong and still wagging his tail for everyone he meets. We were able to get Jigsaw to a healthy weight and has since been fully vetted. Unfortunately, due to his background, Jigsaw has some behavioral nuances that will make him difficult to place. Jigsaw is a silly, unique boy and he loves people, however he will grab hold of any object within reach and will not let go. For this reason, Jigsaw cannot have toys. He will grab a hose, or a broom, or a towel, and getting it back is a struggle. He is currently walked on a chain leash to avoid having to retrieve the leash out of his jaws. For obvious reasons, he is not a fan of other dogs, but he adores people. This boy had a hard start to life and we are giving him the best life we can while he is with us.
