Description:
Douglas or Doug-Doug is a young guy who found himself in a sad and dangerous situation when he was surrendered to animal control when his owner went into hospice. He was surrendered with his buddy Charlie. We were told they were going to be taken straight to the back and euthanized, but fortunately the captain of the AC decided to give them until the end of the week to find rescue. Time was running out but thankfully a foster stepped up and we were able to save them. We were told Douglas was 6 years old, but once we had eyes on him in the foster home, we realized he's actually still a puppy. He's a big, goofy puppy- currently about 45lbs. We think he's around 8 month to 1 year. He may still have some growing to do. Doug still has a lot of puppy energy and will mouth and jump on you. We are working on that by providing toys to chew on and working on "No jump". But he's just so excited to be loved that he can't contain himself! With a little work he will be awesome. He already walks well on a leash and knows how to sit. He is crate trained and stays quiet in his crate overnight with no accidents. He is very playful and gets along with all the dogs in the home.
