Female Dog, Beagle

Beagle

Description:

Martha is the absolute sweetest 11yo female, waiting for that loving retired life. She sleeps most the day and is so excited to see you when you come through the door. Her tail wags while she sleeps, and she loves to keep you company in every room. She is the ultimate companion. She has not barked once, and moves at a slow pace. She is a bit bigger than a normal beagle at 50lbs, but that doesn't stop her from wanting to be your best friend. Her foster home thinks she's the perfect balance between cuddly and independent. She likes to rest her head on your legs, but also likes time to herself to sleep all day. Martha is completely housetrained. She can hold her bladder for quite a while. As she gets older, we wouldn't recommend leaving her at home alone for more than 8 hours, then she might have an accident in the house. She really needs a home with no stairs, her hips are a little slow moving and she is too heavy to carry up and down stairs. She also needs a human that can lift her in and out of a car, Martha cannot jump in and out of a car very easily. Martha still has a lot of life left in her, she has just discovered dog toys and wants to play. She gets along with her two foster beagle brothers and sisters, cats unknown, but Martha moves so slow the chances of her catching a cat are slim. I think she'd be best in a home without kids, because she doesn't like to be snuck up on while sleeping. She walks very slow on a leash, she doesn't pull, in fact you kind of have to pull her to get her to walk. Martha is going to be the best friend you never knew you needed. She is so loving, and I swear she smiles at you. She'll melt your heart with her wagging tail and beautiful eyes. Will you please give Martha that retirement home life with a best human friend? Martha does NOT have heartworm, she is spayed, had 3 mammary tumors removed and needs a dental before she goes to her new home which she is scheduled for on April 1st.
