Female Dog, Chihuahua

Chihuahua

Description:

Truffles is a tiny bundle of love, curiosity, and pure joy. She’s incredibly smart and has already mastered the doggie door like a pro. Watching her little legs fly as she races across the yard—especially when a squirrel is involved—is guaranteed to make you smile. Truffles has free run of the house and has been nothing but a perfect houseguest. She doesn’t chew, make messes, or get into trouble, and stairs are no problem for her. She’s mostly potty trained and would just need a quick refresher in a new environment. She’s been left alone for short periods and does great. She currently lives with three dogs who are showing her the ropes, and she gets along beautifully with them. Truffles would likely do well with other dogs and possibly cats. She’s also very curious about small animals—she’s been around guinea pigs and birds and would love to play—so supervision would be important. Her favorite things include stuffy toys, soaking up the sunshine, and watching the world go by from the window. She’s comfortable wearing a collar and leash, though she’s only used them for vet visits so far. Truffles hasn’t been around small children yet, so introductions should be slow and supervised—but with her sweet nature, she’ll likely do just fine. And yes… she snores. And it’s adorable. Truffles is a loving, easygoing little girl ready to bring laughter, sunshine, and cuddles into her forever home. Truffle was rescued from a shelter in New Mexico.Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time. When we do, it will be updated here. This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.
