Female Dog, Chihuahua

Chihuahua / Mixed

Description:

Fran is a loving, playful, and wonderfully affectionate girl who adores being close to her people. She’s a true lap dog who bonds quickly and happily settles in for cuddles. At night, she sleeps soundly in her kennel without a peep.So far, Fran appears to be potty trained — she’s only had one accident, and that was on her very first day when she was scared and adjusting. She’s been doing great since.Fran is still working through some fears, especially when it comes to leashes and doggie doors. Right now, she’s too frightened to walk on a leash and prefers being carried. Because of this, she would do best in a home where she doesn’t need leash walks for potty breaks. A secure yard where she can go at her own pace would help her build confidence as she learns the world is a safe place. What Fran lacks in bravery right now, she more than makes up for in sweetness. With a gentle, patient adopter, she’ll blossom into the loyal, snuggly companion she’s already showing she’s meant to be. If you’re looking for a softhearted little shadow who just wants to love and be loved, Fran might be your perfect match.Fran was rescued from a shelter in New Mexico.Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time. When we do, it will be updated here. This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.
