Description:

Please go to our website at www.milehighlabmission.com to find out more about this pet and to submit an adoption application. Please DO NOT call or email us; all information about current dogs available, adoption donations, vetting, and this specific dog are on our website. We are a non-profit organization and we are completely 100% volunteer run. We DO NOT have a shelter and only approved applicants can make appointments with our foster homes to meet the dogs we have. Our volunteers will not discuss dogs we have available for adoption UNTIL you have an application on file and are approved to adopt.Personality | Floyd is a beautiful chocolate Lab mix with a tender heart and a curious spirit. Floyd is nervous around new people and unsure about leash walking right now, but has warmed up quickly to his foster family and his happy puppy spirit is shining through. With time, patience, and kindness, he’s showing more confidence every day. If you have the heart and home to help Floyd blossom, he’ll reward you with loyalty and unconditional love. Story | Floyd was found as a stray puppy and ended up in a high-kill shelter before being rescued and brought to Colorado for a second chance! Other Dogs | Where Floyd truly shines is with other dogs—he LOVES to play with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a friendly, confident dog to help guide him. He happily shares toys with his foster brother and takes correction well.Cats | Floyd hasn’t shown signs of prey drive. While we’re unsure how he is with cats, his demeanor suggests he may do well with a proper introduction.Children | Floyd has lived in a home with teenagers and does well with them—he may be a little nervous at first, but he’s always sweet. He hasn’t lived with young kids, so a calmer household might be best while he continues to build confidence. Training I Floyd is crate-trained, house-trained, working on basic commands, and is treat motivated. With patience, tasty rewards, and a loving environment, Floyd is sure to blossom into a loyal, happy companion.Leash | Floyd hasn't been exposed to the leash much in his life so his foster family is slowly introducing him to this concept. A secure yard and calm environment would be a big plus while he continues to learn. Activity Level | Floyd has a wonderful balance of energy—he loves to play, especially with other dogs, but he also knows how to relax and enjoy some downtime. Whether he’s romping in the yard or curled up by your feet, Floyd is happy just being part of the action.Health Notes | Floyd is neutered and UTD on vaccinesGeneral Notes | Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us. Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP. Thank you! | Adoption Donations | Puppies to 1 year - $475, 1-6 years - $425, 7-10 years - $375, and 11+ years - $255. Purebreds are $525 regardless of age. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog).Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for 90 days from the time of approval for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.
