We are a non-profit organization and we are completely 100% volunteer run. Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP, and an Adoption Coordinator will be in touch within a few days. Our standard application processing timeline is 12 - 14 days. Colorado foster: Poppy is one sweet gal! She needs a little time, patience and consistency to feel safe and warm up to her surroundings and humans. She is curious and cautious. Everyday she shows more of her fun personality. She wants to be loved and will roll over for a tummy rub. She is a little slow to warm up to family and friends who stop by. Nothing a treat or three won’t help her get thru. Poppy remembers the second and third times a person visits, amazing!Personality | Poppy is getting braver every day. She is an absolute delight with a heart full of love and a bright, cheerful spirit. She brings instant warmth to every room and loves making new best friends wherever she goes. She is so sweet, silly, and loving. Colorado foster: Poppy has a heart full of love to give. She wants your attention and praise, and thrives on positive praise. She wants to please her human. She is so smart and learns fast. Poppy responds very well to learning.Story | Rescued and brought into care after being found dumped on a roadside, Poppy has left her past behind and is ready for a fresh start. She has shown enthusiasm and adaptability, proving every day how ready she is to join a loving home.Other Dogs | Poppy gets along wonderfully with other dogs, whether playing tag in the yard or relaxing side-by-side. Her polite, friendly social style makes her a great companion for canine siblings of all sizes. Cats | UnknownChildren | Poppy's foster home in Texas had kids, however Poppy is not currently living with kids in her Colorado foster home. Poppy is gaining confidence every day but she can be a little wary meeting new people. Poppy would probably do better with older kids who will give her the time, patience and space to learn to feel comfortable.Training | Eager to please and highly motivated by treats and praise, Poppy picks up new cues and household routines. Her focused nature and quick intellect make learning sessions a fun, rewarding bonding experience.Colorado foster: Poppy is very eager to please her human. She is highly motivated by treats and praise and is learning very quickly! Poppy is one smart gal! Patience & training will go a long way with her, and the benefits will be amazing! It’s rewarding to see her grow into herself!Leash | Poppy is eager to go on walks and can pull on leash at outset but then she calms down for an enjoyable stroll.Activity Level | Poppy is a 1 year old Lab, she's is playful and active and would thrive in a home where she gets lots of exercise and play. Poppy knows how to relax after she's gotten some energy out. :)Health Notes | UTD and healthy!Thank you! | Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $575 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year old, $525 for 1 - 6 years old, $475 for dogs 7 - 10 years old, and $350 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $625. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, transportation to Colorado, and supplies while in foster care (that currently average over $750 per dog).Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet and greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. We will not respond to emails about animal availability or allow meet and greets without an approved adoption application on file. Please Note | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for one year from the date of applying for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!
