Female Dog, Plott Hound

Plott Hound / Mixed

Description:

Savoring her second chance at life is sweet 2-year-old Opal who loves to love! The 54-pound brindle beauty, so calm and so cuddly, loves snuggling with her foster mom, resting her head on her and then prancing about. Supremely sociable, she also loves everyone she meets and wants them to pet her, while they themselves are entranced by her special smile, her playfulness and her silliness. Getting along easily and eagerly with other dogs of all sizes, Opal takes correction well when her playing becomes too much for them. While she’s still learning to curb her excitement when she knows it’s time for a walk, she’s improving her leash skills daily, and has now found something else to love: water! She LOVES playing in the kiddy pool, chasing the hose and even biting at the water. Fond of every toy around, from stuffed toys and rope toys to balls, her favorite spot to be is beside her foster mom on the couch or in bed or with any of her doggy foster friends. Motivated by food and love, she currently knows “come,” “sit,” “stay,” “down,” “no” and “off,” and is crate trained and almost fully house-trained. Now, all Opal needs to truly gleam is a loving home, preferably with another canine companion, older children, and adoring adopters who will perfect her puppylike manners and complete her training, including her commands, in exchange for her own, enduring love. Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. The adoption fee for this pet is $425. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email [email protected] for more information, as we can't accept calls at this time. PLEASE NOTE: The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter. Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets. Here is some interesting info on breed identification: https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online. We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting. Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
