Female Dog, Maltese
Maltese / Mixed
Description:
Every bit as delightful as her name, Candy is a 2-year-old, 15-pound bundle of sugar, spice, and everything nice! This affectionate lapdog is the perfect companion for anyone who loves quiet cuddles and sweet snuggles. Candy is happiest when she’s cozied up on your lap or resting her head on your shoulder as you work or relax. Though mellow at heart, Candy also has a playful side! She adores romping around with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a playful pup buddy to share her rope toys and games of tug-of-war. While not a retriever by breed, Candy absolutely loves to play fetch and won’t say no to a game with her favorite tennis ball or stuffy. Candy gets along well with kids of all ages but would do best in a home with children 10 years or older, where she can enjoy a little extra calm and patience as she continues to learn and grow. She’s crate trained and making progress with her housetraining (though she still needs some work in this area). Candy does need help learning how to walk on a leash, so her ideal home will have a fully fenced yard where she can safely play and explore. She also loves car rides and, of course, treats—she never turns one down! With plenty of love to give and lots still to learn, Candy is looking for a patient, kind-hearted family who will continue her training, help her master her commands, and give her the affection she craves. If you're ready to be showered with sweetness, Candy is ready to melt your heart. Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home.
