Male Dog, American Pit Bull Terrier
American Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (Short Coat)
Description:
Meet Pete – A Sensitive Soul in Need of Stability and Understanding Pete is a Pitbull mix, born around November 1, 2020, who has spent far too long waiting for the right home—one that understands his needs and can provide the structure, patience, and compassion he deserves. Pete is a reserved, low-to-moderate energy dog who takes time to warm up to new people. He is not a social butterfly and will not be the kind of dog to greet every stranger with enthusiasm. Instead, he bonds deeply with those he trusts and prefers a quiet, predictable environment where he can feel safe. Once comfortable, Pete shows a very affectionate and loyal side—he genuinely enjoys the company of “his person.” He walks well on leash, enjoys treats, and prefers calm, slow-paced interactions. However, Pete also has sensitive skin and paws, which will require consistent care and monitoring. This is not a dog for a first-time owner or someone looking for a high-energy companion. He will do best with someone experienced in dog behavior, preferably someone who has worked with shy or sensitive dogs before. Pete’s needs are specific and non-negotiable: Adult-only home Minimal foot traffic (no busy households or frequent visitors) Dog-savvy handler Willingness to manage ongoing skin and paw sensitivities No other pets (unknown with dogs; not tested with cats) This is a dog who, in the right hands, has the potential to flourish—but he will not thrive in the wrong environment. Pete is not a quick or easy placement, but he is deeply deserving of a chance. If you're willing to earn his trust, he will give you his whole heart in return. If you believe you have the right environment for Pete and are ready to make a serious, long-term commitment, please contact the Ranch to discuss next steps. Pete isn’t for everyone—but he might be exactly what you need Thank you for considering adopting a Rescue Ranch dog.
