Description:
Meet CHIQUIS — a tiny soul who is learning how to trust again. Chiquis and her two siblings were found as stray dogs and taken to Contra Costa Animal Services. We believe they were abandoned by the only family they ever knew, left confused, scared, and alone on the streets. No dog deserves to feel unwanted, especially not one as sweet and gentle as Chiquis. When we rescued her, Chiquis was terrified of the world. She was extremely shy, timid, and unsure if humans were safe. Her little heart had been broken. But with patience, love, and dedication from her amazing foster, Chiquis has slowly begun to heal. Every small step forward has been a victory. Chiquis is about 1 year old, 32 lbs, and is vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped. She is good with other dogs and people, but when meeting someone new, she may bark at first — not out of aggression, but out of fear. Once she realizes she is safe, she melts into the sweetest, most loving girl who just wants to be close and feel protected. She has been through so much, and because of that, she needs a patient, gentle, and understanding family who will give her the time she needs to fully trust again. Someone who will show her that she will never be abandoned again. Someone who will love her for the rest of her life. ❤️ Chiquis is waiting for her forever home — the home where her story finally changes from heartbreak to happiness. If you are interested in adopting or foster-to-adopt, please contact the rescue. Please help us give Chiquis the second chance she so deeply deserves.
