If you are interested in fostering please fill out an online foster application. Hi, I'm Luna, a beautiful Shepherd X who is hoping to find my forever home. I escaped from my previous home and was unfortunately hit by a car in the process. My previous owners took me to the vet where surgery was initially recommended and my previous owners could not afford the surgery. Thankfully the vet contacted CARL about possibly taking me into their program. CARL took me in and received a second opinion which recommended strict rest for a couple weeks and then re-assess afterwards to see if surgery was still the best option. After strict rest for what seemed to be forever and several follow up vet visits, I've recovered and I'm ready for my forever family to come and take me home. I can be slightly timid when you approach me for the first time but I warm up quickly. I love being pet and getting belly rubs and hanging with people. Since I've been on strict rest, it's unknown how I would do with other dogs. I don't bark at my neighbors currently, but if someone passes by with a dog I bark. Maybe because I want to be the one going out for a walk. I like my walks but I have to slowly build up to more exercise as I build back my muscles. I will lean into you to get pets when someone enters my kennel run. I definitely will be an active girl once I am at full strength. If you're interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application to meet me. *Thank you to Sharon for sponsoring this wonderful dog at the Burnice Kraemer Sanctuary and giving her the chance for a better life.
