When frightened, Phil may react defensively, so heâs looking for a calm, experienced home that understands fearful dogs and is willing to move at his pace.The good news? Phil has already shown how much progress heâs capable of making. In just a few days, he has eased up significantly, allowing gentle petting and handling without incident and happily taking treats from hands. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, Phil continues to build trust and confidence.Phil will do best in a quiet home with adults or older teens, where routines are predictable and introductions are slow and respectful. Once he feels safe, he shows that he truly wants connection, he just needs someone willing to give him the time and understanding he deserves.
