Female Dog, Border Collie

Border Collie / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (Medium Coat)

Description:

Meet Wren, the border collie mix! Wren came to the Shelter with her puppies (not yet of age for adoption) as well as another dog Falcon (who is also up for adoption)! We don’t know much about Wren’s life before the Shelter other than she had been on a property being fed by a person for a bit of time. That person could not take Wren and the other dogs into their care full time so they brought them to the Shelter. Staff have observed that Wren has been social and wiggly. She walks well on leash, enjoys attention and has been easy to interact and handle. Wren has met new dog friends at the Shelter and has coexisted in the exercise yards. A home with a canine companion may be a fit in her next home. Wren is available for pre-adoption at this time. Come to the Shelter, meet her, fall in love and take her home after her spay surgery! The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
