Description:
Meet Velcro, the senior chihuahua! Velcro arrived to the Shelter with three other similarly looking dogs as strays found outside the Target parking lot in Capitola. Despite being a bit nervous upon entry, Velcro has warmed up to staff and volunteers since his arrival. Velcro may enjoy a home with other animals with a slow, thoughtful introduction. Because of Velcroâs adventure at Target, we would recommend any adopters have Velcro safely contained and supervised in an enclosed yard when outdoors or on leash to keep him safe. Velcro could be adopted with his brother Zipper but is not required to be. If adopted together, their fee would be 2 for 1. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering âPawsitivity Bucksâ with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
