Female Dog, Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Staffordshire Bull Terrier / Mixed (Medium Coat)

Description:

Meet Peppermint Patty – an adolescent female staffie mix pup with the world’s cutest and shortest legs. Peppermint Patty came to the Shelter via animal control after her previous guardians were unable to provide care for her and the rest of the canine crew. Peppermint Patty has been enjoying playing with staff and volunteers since her arrival at the Shelter. She is a fairly confident puppy that is ready to prance into her adoptive home. She is excited to meet other dogs, but then can get a bit unsure as she gets closer (outside of the ones she lived with). She would benefit from a dog-savvy adopter who'll take things slow in the dog to dog socialization department. A home with another dog may be a fit after a meet ‘n greet at the Shelter. High traffic dog areas like dog parks and beaches may be a bit overwhelming for Peppermint Patty as she is decompressing into her adoptive home. Adopters should plan on starting fresh with things like potty training and leash walking. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
