Description:

Meet Pearl, our beautiful, gentle girl with a heart as lovely as her name. Pearl can be a little shy when you first meet her — new faces and new places make her pause and take it all in. But give her a little patience and kindness, and you’ll see her true self blossom. Once she warms up, Pearl is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and devoted. Her absolute favorite thing in the world? Being with her people. Whether it’s relaxing by your side, following you from room to room, or soaking up quiet cuddle time, Pearl is happiest when she’s close to the ones she loves. She’s the kind of girl who forms deep bonds and will reward your patience with unwavering loyalty and gentle affection. If you’re looking for a loving companion who just wants to be near you, Pearl may be your perfect match. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
