Meet Morgan, the 7 month old female pug mix! This medium sized cutie came to the Shelter after her previous guardian was unable to continue caring for her. Morgan’s previous guardian said that she is very energetic. She enjoys chewing on things and should be provided with plenty of appropriate, safe chew options to encourage him to chew on dog-safe things and not household items. Her favorite thing to do in her previous home is go for runs. If there is an adopter looking for a pint-sized exercise companion – this may be your gal! Morgan does well riding in a car so joining you on adventures is on the to-do list. She is still perfecting life skills and manners like potty training so her new adoptive family should be patient in the transition. Morgan may do well in a home with other animals with a slow thoughtful introduction. Any resident dogs are recommended to meet at the Shelter prior to adoption. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw!Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
