Male Dog, Border Collie

Border Collie / Mixed (Medium Coat)

Description:

Meet Marvin, a 5-month-old Border Collie Mix. He’s a bright and social boy who thrives when given the chance to learn and engage in a supportive environment. Marvin has had positive social interactions with resident cats, other dogs at the dog park, children, and strangers. Marvin was adopted from us as a young puppy, and was returned to us in hopes of finding a match for his puppy behaviors; including mouthing and jumping when excited. A resident dog who enjoys playing may be a good fit and aid in that enrichment that Marvin is craving in his next home. In his previous home, his favorite activities included running and playing fetch. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw!Saturday August 23rd and Sunday August 24th, the Shelter will be having a fee waived adoption special. This event is sponsored by the ASPCA and helps highlight that when you choose adoption, you are not only helping one animal find a home but helping the Shelter take in and care for another in it’s place. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
