Female Dog, Terrier

Terrier / Mixed (Medium Coat)

Description:

Meet Lumi, the terrier mix puppy! We aren’t sure the exact breed mix but she look like a terrier. This pup came into the Shelter as an underage little cutie with three siblings. Lumi spent a week in foster with her sister Yuki growing up to prepare for adoption. Her foster reports: “Lumi’s name comes from the Finnish word for snow, and it fits her perfectly...she looks like a little snow puff brought to life. With her long, fluffy coat and bright blue puppy eyes, Lumi is a confident, cheerful pup who brings winter magic wherever she goes. She’s curious and bold, happily exploring new spaces and greeting people with an enthusiastic wag. Lumi is independent but also loves human attention and very happy to hop into a lap for cozy snuggles once playtime winds down. She’s doing great with potty training and has been consistently using pee pads. Lumi has been fostered in a home with cats and showed little interest in them, making her a great fit for a home with feline companions. If you’re looking for a joyful, confident puppy to brighten your home this holiday season, Lumi is ready to sprinkle a little snow-day magic into your life!”The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
