Description:

`Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, JoleneI'm begging of you please don't take my man (Jolene)Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, JolenePlease don't take him just because you can`Well, hate to break it to you but Jolene may just take your man. This social butterfly has won everyone's hearts since her arrival at the Shelter (both human and canine. Jolene came to the Shelter by no fault of her own (her previous guardian was having trouble finding pet friendly housing). She shared her previous home with a cat, and she enjoys interacting with strangers so much that she will just sit in their laps! Perhaps she picked that up from her feline friend? Jolene had canine friends in her previous home, too, and she enjoyed wrestling and running with them. She also has met dogs here and really lays on the charm with adorable playbows and `come play iwth me` antics. Although Jolene was primarily an outdoor dog, we anticipate she will transition to indoor living, provided adopters are patient with her in the transition of learning potty training and other life skills and manners. Jolene is available for preadoption - come meet her, fall in love, and take her home after her spay surgery. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
