Description:
Meet Jax, the lab mix! Jax came to the Shelter by no fault of his own, his previous guardian had to take over caregiving duties for an elderly family member and needed to find a new home for Jax. Jaxâs favorite activities in his previous home are running, playing fetch, being pet and chewing on bones and toys. He has a history of being crated when left alone and sleeps in his crate. His favorite toys are frisbees and balls. In his previous home, he had a female pittie mix that was his friend that he enjoyed playing previously. Any resident dogs are recommended to meet at the Shelter prior to adoption as Jax may be selective in his canine friends. His prior guardian reports that Jax is a smart boy and knows âsitâ, âstayâ, âlay downâ, âoffâ, and âleave itâ. He enjoys riding in the car and is ready to join you on all of your adventures! The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering âPawsitivity Bucksâ with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
