Description:
Ila is a 8 month old husky puppy. Ila came to the Shelter as an owner surrender after being part of an accidental litter. Ila has since spent time in a temporary home who reports that she your typical puppy. She enjoys hiking and running. She did well playing with the children in the home (who were under 12 years of age). Ila is very dog savvy and is often used for dog introductions at the Shelter. She enjoys playing with those who will entertain her antics but in the event that a dog communicates, `no thank you`, Ila has been very respectful of their body language. A home with other dogs may be a fit with a meet and greet at the Shelter prior to adoption. There were kids in her previous home. A home without felines or small animals is recommended due to observed prey drive in her previous home. Ila has experience being crated while her guardian was at work. She is potty trained. Ila knows `sit`, `come` and `heel`. She also does well riding in the car.The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering âPawsitivity Bucksâ with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
