Description:
Meet Harley! This five year old lab border collie mix came to the Shelter after her previous guardian was experiencing some personal struggles that left her unable to continue to care for her. Harley had a great start to life and had been with her guardian since being a puppy. She is house trained and was left free roaming while her guardian was at work. She is also crate trained! Her favorite activities in her previous home were walking, jumping, fetch and pretty much any outdoor activity. She is described as high energy and needing regular mental and physical stimulation. If you are looking for an adventure buddy that has the zest to run on the trails with you but not a ton of puppy crazy energy â this may be your match! Not only does Harley have the looks, she also has the smarts. She knows âsitâ, âlay downâ and âoffâ. She does great riding in the car and enjoyed playing in her fenced in yard in the previous home. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering âPawsitivity Bucksâ with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
