Female Dog, Anatolian Shepherd
Anatolian Shepherd (Medium Coat)
Description:
Meet Gorda, the Caucasian Shepherd. Yes, we have her listed as an Anatolian Shepherd but that is because our database doesnât have a breed option of Caucasian Shepherd. Any hoo â this sweet soul has been through a lot of transition in the past few months and is looking for a savvy adopter to create a safe place for her to blossom in. Gorda is a gentle giant who can be shy with new people. When she warms up, she is social and endearing. Gorda enjoys playing with other dogs but does not enjoy sharing resources with other dogs. A home with another well-matched dog may bring Gorda joy in her next spot provided her adopter is experienced and willing to put the time and energy into managing Gordaâs environment to set her and the other resident pup up for success. Gorda's adoption fee is sponsored by the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation thanks to âLeave No One Behind fundâ â designed to adopterâs eyes towards animals who have been in the Shelterâs care a little longer than average waiting for the right adopter. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering âPawsitivity Bucksâ with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
