Male Dog, Labrador Retriever
Labrador Retriever / Border Collie / Mixed (Medium Coat)
Description:
Meet Falcon, the border collie mix! Falcon came to the Shelter with another adult dog Wren (who is up for adoption) and her puppies (not yet of age for adoption))! We donât know much about Falconâs life before the Shelter other than he had been on a property being fed by a person for a bit of time. That person could not take Falcon and the other dogs into their care full time so they brought them to the Shelter. Staff have observed that Falcon has been social and wiggly. He has been a little timid at first but is slowly gaining confidence in the new environment and with new people. Falcon has met new dog friends at the Shelter and has coexisted in the exercise yards. A home with a canine companion may be a fit in his next home. Falcon is available for pre-adoption at this time. Come to the Shelter, meet him, fall in love and take him home after his neuter surgery! The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering âPawsitivity Bucksâ with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
