Meet Confetti – the adorable mixed breed who is the life of the party. We suspect she is some sort of pointer or cattle dog mixed breed but are not sure! Confetti arrived at the Shelter as if she has never met a stranger – greeting client services staff members by jumping into their laps, sitting at their feet for attention and even offering some kisses! For the past month, Confetti has been hanging out in a foster with a wonderful family. They report “She’s doing great! She seems potty trained and does well in the crate overnight for sleep. She’s a quick learner – knows a few commands and is learning new ones quickly. She’s super treat motivated which makes training so much easier.” Confetti is friends with the two resident canines and enjoys participating in a game of chase, playing tug with toys and then relaxing on the couch together after. To sweeten the deal, Confetti’s adoption fee is sponsored by the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation thanks to “Leave No One Behind fund” – a fund that draws adopter’s eyes towards animals who have been in the Shelter’s care a little longer than average waiting for the right adopter to call their best friend. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
