Description:
Meet Benny, the adolescent terrier mix. Benny arrived at the Shelter as an owner surrender after his previous guardian could no longer care for him. He lived in a home with another dog, teenagers and men. Benny spent the majority of his life outdoors in his previous home and will need a little patience transitioning to indoor-living related things such as potty training. His previous guardians report that his favorite things to do are play and go for walks. Benny really likes to play fetch will balls. He also does well riding in the car. Benny may enjoy living with another dog. If there is a dog in the home, they should meet prior to adoption. We do not have any history of Benny with cats or young children. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering âPawsitivity Bucksâ with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
