Description:

01/28/26 15:15Meet Papermate! This sweet, chubby pup is a perfect mix of adventure buddy and cuddle companion. He loves exploring new places, sniffing grass, and meeting friendly dogs. Papermate walks calmly on leash and adores toys and treats—sturdy toys are best!Papermate has high FAS, so loud noises or crowds can make him nervous. With gentle guidance and patience, he gains confidence quickly. He would thrive with an adopter who can provide calm structure, plenty of love, and fun adventures.Stop by to meet this playful, affectionate little guy!12/14/25What did we do on today’s adventure:Today, without me even knowing it, I went on a wonderful downtown adventure! I was extra wiggly while getting my harness on because I was so excited to spend some special time outside the shelter with my new human friend. My first try at jumping into the car didn’t quite work out—my short little legs misjudged the height! Oops! Luckily, I used the steps and hopped right in, then happily played with all the fun toys inside until, before I knew it, we had arrived. There was supposed to be a Christmas in the Park event, but since it wasn’t open yet, we enjoyed a lovely walk around the SJSU campus and nearby streets instead. I felt a bit nervous when a big group of people came out of a building, so I stayed close to my human for comfort. They spoke to me gently and guided me away, which made me feel safe. I absolutely loved exploring the campus—especially the green grass! I got excited seeing other dogs around and even did a little play bow, hoping to make friends, though I wasn’t allowed to play. I was a bit disappointed, but it made me feel proud and happy when so many people told me how cute and well behaved I was. Also I managed to jump into the car without using steps this time! We also stopped by a local park where I enjoyed sniffing all the new smells and walking on the grass. Crossing a bridge, I heard ducks by the stream and found that very interesting! By the time we headed back to the shelter, I was tired but veryhappy. I curled up and snoozed, dreaming of more adventures like this—maybe next time to a real park! What should potential adopters know about me:Papermate is an adorable, short and chubby pup with lovely leash manners—he walks calmly right by your side. He can be a bit sensitive to loud noises and may feel nervous in big crowds, but with some gentle training, he can grow more comfortable in new environments. He’s incredibly friendly with both people and other dogs. Papermate loves his toys, though he has a habit of tearing them apart, so sturdy, chew-proof toys are recommended. He’s the perfect mix of adventure buddy and cuddle companion, always happy toexplore with you or snuggle up on the couch.Three words to describe me:Friendly, adventurous, excited
