Description:

12/16/24 01:43Doggy Day Out Report:Today I: went on a long walk with a new friend at a park. This park has many great scents, birds, squirrels, human and other doggy friends! I loved taking my time to sniff around, feeling curious about anything that moved—runners, walkers, bikers, and especially birds and squirrels. My friend reminded me to say hello from a distance. I LOVE treats, and I would ‘sit’ happily for more yummy ones! Three Words to Describe Me are: Curious- Friendly- JoyfulNotes from My Walker: Mochi is a lovely girl! When I approached her slowly to put on the collar and harness, she got a bit mouthy when I tried to clip them on, as she's a little sensitive around her neck. Knowing she loves treats and has a solid ‘sit,’ I asked her to sit, gave her a few treats, and took my time clipping the collar and harness. Before heading to Jeffrey Fontana Park, we went around the shelter parking lot so she could release some energy and go potty. She was awesome throughout the ride—hopping right into the car and staying relaxed. At the park, Mochi got excited by all the different scents and pulled on the leash with moderate strength. She wasn’t used to the harness and would bite the leash when she felt too much pressure. But she’s a quick learner! As we continued walking, she got a better sense of how the harness worked and adjusted well. I was also impressed by how calm she stayed when other dogs barked at us. She’s such a good girl! Mochi will make a wonderful addition to your family; she’s eager to learn and would love to earn a tasty treat from you!12/06/24 11:23 P needs rescue. P shows resource-guarding behaviors. P very anxious in shelter. Right ovarian mass noted at time of spay; histopathology consistent with ovarian adenocarcinoma. MEM
