Male Dog, Siberian Husky

Siberian Husky / German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (Medium Coat)

Description:

05/14/24 17:13Foster BioCharlie is a very sweet, loving, fun and well behaved 3+ year old Shepherd/Husky mix. He gets along with all dogs and loves all people. He loves to run! I take him to different parks and I think Hellyer is his favorite. He loves to chase the geese and make friends with other dogs. He is very funny and silly. At night he is a great sleeper. He sleeps on his bed by my bed and doesn't really make a sound until about 8:30 when he comes to wake you up with a lick and, in his husky voice, asks for a hug good morning. He is very well behaved. 90% of the time I walk him off leash and he never goes further then he can see me and waits at the corners until I catch up to him. He loves toys! Especially balls and stuffed animals that squeak. He works hard at getting that squeaker out :) I think the best situation for him would be a younger person (I'm 62), a young couple or family and that possibly has another dog. He loves to hike, run, and do anything outside.11/16/23SVPP Dog Day Out Notes:Today I: met a new person, and I was so excited that I immediately rolled on my back for belly rubs! Then we drove to a park together and went for a long walk. Afterwards we took a break at Petco and did a little sniffari.Three Words to Describe Me are: Playful, cuddly, energeticNotes from My Walker: Charlie is a very sweet and affectionate boy. He also has a ton of energy! We walked about five miles together at a very brisk pace, up and down hills and all over town, and he was still going strong at the end. There were quite a few people (including joggers & bicyclists) and other dogs along the trail, but Charlie was never bothered by any of them - even when the other dogs were barking at him. He didn’t seem terribly interested in the treats I had brought with me; it feels like he’s more motivated by play and cuddles.11/01/23 14:18SVPP Dog Day Out Notes:Today I made a new friend! I was very excited to see her. We drove to a park and walked for 6 miles. I enjoyed our walk - especially sniffing all the new smells! I saw a lot of squirrels and other dogs. My new friend taught me to ‘Sit’, ‘Lay down’ and ‘Shake-hand’. She gave me lots of treats. After our walk, we enjoyed some relaxing time on the grass. I was very excited and kept jumping on my friend.I also found a stick to chew on and play with it.Three Words to Describe Me are: Charming – Playful - SmartNotes from My Walker: Charlie is an adorable dog! He is super smart and picks up everything very quick! He was able to learn a few tricks and is some what motivated by treats. If he does what’s said and treat not handed to him, he lets out an excited/friendly bark to get our attention. He was very calm throughout our walk. We were barked at by two dogs but Charlie kept his cool though he was curious. After our walk he was being goofy by rolling on the grass asking for scratches! He at times is unaware of his big personality/built - he tried to sit on my lap!He is extremely friendly and would do very good with any family who is ready to give him some love, treats, exercise and extra scratches!
