Description:

15/02/26 09:49 MHURGENT: ACORN NEEDS A CALM FOSTER, RESCUE OR ADOPTER NOWAcorn is a gentle, sensitive dog who is shutting down in the loud shelter environment — but he continues to show he trusts and seeks comfort from people. In noisy kennel areas, Acorn keeps his head low, moves cautiously, and often retreats to the back of his kennel.Sudden sounds cause him to freeze or panic.Recently, firecrackers near the yard terrified him, and he bolted before being safely recovered. It took him several minutes to settle afterward.Despite this, Acorn consistently shows that humans are his safe place: When staff kneel and softly call him, he comes forward to lick hands and gently nudge for reassurance. He walks close to his handler, frequently checking in.Once he feels safe in the yard, he becomes playful — offering sweet play bows and animated prancing. He has been friendly with other dogs. If fact, Acorn loves other dogs and looks to them for reassurance, so a home with or without a furry companion would be a good fit. Acorn isn’t fearful of people — he’s overwhelmed by chaos and noise. He is living in survival mode at the shelter. What he needs:A quiet, patient home with minimal loud stimuli and a gentle routine to help him decompress and feel secure. In the right environment, Acorn has every chance to blossom into a loving, devoted companion. Please consider fostering, rescuing, or adopting Acorn. A calm home could truly save him. ??01/16/26This sweet, shy dog is affectionate and loves gentle attention. While initially fearful of leaving the kennel, he displays loose, relaxed body language and responds well to petting and soft talking, often licking and nudging his handler for more interaction. With patience, he begins to show his playful side, even wagging his tail briefly. He is quiet, docile, and gentle, making him a perfect companion for a calm, patient home that can help him continue building confidence.12/30/25 16:14Needs rescue due to being severely shut down in the shelter. Dog came in with A1400541. They were abandoned in a room together. Sweet dogs, will allow lots of petting and handling, but very reluctant to leave their kennel. Dogs are kenneled together and need a quiet and calm environment. May be separated, but they are very bonded.
