Male Dog, German Shepherd Dog

German Shepherd Dog (Medium Coat)

Description:

Please contact Adoption ([email protected]) for more information about this pet. Hi, my name is Quincy! My journey at Coastal started in February when I was rescued from a shelter with only days left to live. I wasn’t put on the euthanasia list because of any behavioral issues but rather that the shelter was so over run with dogs that they couldn’t afford to keep me any longer. Lucky for me, Coastal came to my rescue and I’m now getting used to the ranch life with all of my new volunteer friends. While I’m very new to the rescue I think that all of the volunteers would agree I’m one of the smallest and cutest shepherds around. Not only am I a little smaller than most shepherds but I have a constant “wink” that makes it nearly impossible for anyone to not give me a treat. As you may have noticed from my pictures, I can’t see out of my left eye. Don’t worry though! I am not in any pain nor does it cause me any issues, I simply can’t see out of my left eye. Because I’m so new to the rescue, my friends at Coastal are still trying to figure out not only my demeanor but who I get along with as far as dogs go. As of now – my forever family would be someone or a family who understands how to work with shepherds. You see, I spent a lot of time alone and didn’t have much guidance so I can get a little over stimulated and “mouthy” when I get excited. When I say I get “mouthy” I mean that I can be vocal towards other dogs or want to take a little nibble out of your loose sweater. I would love to have a person or family who can help to teach me how to correct my behavior as I love to see my person happy. At the end of the day, I love to cuddle. More than anything, I love to be touched, held and cuddled. I can’t wait to meet you! Please visit http://www.coastalk9gsrsd.org/to learn more about our dogs. Click on available dogs to see further descriptions. If you are interested in me, please contact us at [email protected] or call (858) 779-9149. Don't forget to fill out our online application. The minimum adoption donation ranges from $300 to $400. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible. Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems. Our adoption process begins with completing an application on-line. A phone screening will soon follow, and lastly a home visit will be conducted by our volunteers. We show our dogs at adoption events every weekend! Check our our website to see where we'll be next! Coastal German Shepherd Rescue of Southern California is a non-profit 501(c)3 public charity dedicated to finding loving homes for abandoned German Shepherds. Your tax deductible donations go to support these very deserving animals. Coastal was formed to serve communities in the counties of San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles and the Inland Empire. We are committed to finding loving permanent homes for the orphaned dogs in our care. Coastal is an all volunteer, no-kill, 501 (c) 3 non profit organization.
