German Shepherd Dog (Short Coat)

Description:

At just 6-7 months old, sweet little Feya landed in a frightening shelter and was scheduled for euthanasia. Thankfully, we were able to rescue her. Feya is as cute as they come and has quickly become a favorite at the Ranch. She is playful, fun and goofy while having a confident sure-footedness about her. During a weekend foster stay, Feya flourished: her foster mom shared, “She was wonderfully attentive and smart, always by my side on walks, a little shy at first around a few other dogs and people, but was quickly reassured with a gentle ‘it’s okay.’ She romped and played nonstop with our resident dog, correcting him politely when play got too rough, then slept soundly through the night. Though still mastering housebreaking, she showed no food aggression and even coexisted peacefully with our cat, an indication that she could thrive in a multi-pet home.” There are many dogs waiting for our help. As we are able, we will rescue as many dogs as we can, as quick as we can. If you are interested in adopting Feya, or any one of our wonderful rescue dogs, please let us know. You will not only be adopting a wonderful companion but will also be making it possible for us to save another life. Puppies are a life-long commitment. They need time, training, vet care and healthy feeding to become good canine citizens. Don't even think of adopting a puppy unless you intend to invest the time and money and commitment required, and you can expect to lose a few good shoes along the way! Please visit http://www.coastalk9gsr.org/ to learn more about our dogs. Click on available dogs to see further descriptions. If you are interested in me, please contact us at [email protected] or call (858) 779-9149. Don't forget to fill out our online application. The minimum adoption donation ranges from $300 to $400. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible. Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems. Our adoption process begins with completing an application on-line. A phone screening will soon follow, and lastly a home visit will be conducted by our volunteers.
