Labrador Retriever / Mixed (Long Coat)

Description:

Foster or forever home wanted, meet Brittney. Brittney came into the Riverside shelter as a stray on January 17, 2025. As we see over and over again, she was not microchipped, and no one came looking for her. Three weeks of being in the shelter, she started developing an upper respiratory infection. We became aware of her condition and made a plan to exit her from the shelter. When the transporter arrived to pick her up on February 11, we were advised Brittney gave birth to four puppies overnight!! No one had a clue she was even pregnant. Luckily a foster stepped up to take the family so they would all be safe. Brittney ended up pretty sick and passed it on to her babies. Everyone managed to make it through okay and all are now very healthy. Brittney has been an amazing momma to her babies even when she wasn't feeling well. Brittney is a very affectionate dog who knows some basic commands. She's also potty trained and alerts you when she needs to go out and do her business. She LOVES walks. She is non-reactive to dogs and people on our walks. She was temporarily in a foster home with four other adult dogs and a 4-month-old puppy, they all play very well together. Brittney would do well in an active family, one who will take her on walks or hikes. She rides well in the car. Because of her size and energy, she'd be better in a home with middle school aged children. If Brittney is a dog you'd be interested in meeting, please apply on our website labradorsandfriends.org. Brittney is located in Southern California.
