Description:
Meet Richie!Richie is a 3-year-old sweetheart whoâs already stealing hearts at the shelter. He came in with a minor skin infection, a sign that he wasnât given the care he deserved, but with a little TLC and regular baths, heâs healing beautifully and will be back to 100% in no time.Looking for a dog whoâs equal parts cuddlebug and adventure pal? Meet Richie â a lovable goofball with a heart of gold and a nose for exploration. At 3 years old, Richie is the perfect age: full of life, curiosity, and playfulness, but mature enough to enjoy a relaxing nap in the afternoon. This handsome husky mix was such a good boy for his bathâeven chatting in true husky fashion while getting scrubbed down! Richie seems to be potty trained, is very dog-friendly, and shows no reactivity on leash. While he can pull a little, he redirects easily and is super treat motivated. He takes his snacks so gently, showing just how sweet he really is.Richie is ready to find a home where heâll be loved, cared for, and given the chance to shine. Could that be with you? Richie recently spent a whole day out with a volunteer, and itâs safe to say he made quite the impression! From early-morning strolls through Capitol Park to taco lunches and a Starbucks pup cup, Richie took on the city like a champ. He greeted everyone with a wagging tail, loved getting pets from new friends, and handled the hustle and bustle like a true gentleman.Heâs very treat-motivated (a total foodie!), and while he can get excited on the leashâespecially when squirrels or other dogs are involvedâheâs quick to respond to praise, gentle redirection, and snacks. He improved throughout the day, showing heâs eager to learn and wants to please. After exploring two parks, lunch at Mas Taco, a trip to the pet store (where he picked his own treats!), and some playtime in the yard, Richie was content to curl up in the car for a well-deserved nap. He rides beautifully in the car and will sweetly rest his head on your shoulderâunless youâre in line for a pup cup, in which case, youâll hear a few excited barks!
