Description:
Meet Hazelnut! This 1 year old cutie pie is so ready for a home of her own. She enjoys meeting new people and is a happy joyful girl. She loves other big dogs and would love another playful dog in her home. Her foster home does not have cats but we’re guessing she would not do well with them, as they would be too much fun to chase.Hazelnut came to our shelter with her 1 day old baby boy. They soon went to one of our foster homes that specializes in moms with litters. Hazelnut was a great mom to her puppy (he’s been adopted) and now it’s her turn to enjoy the spotlight and be the center of her adoptive family’s heart. We’re just starting to learn about Hazelnut’s true personality now that she’s not a mom anymore. On her first outing outside the home, she enjoyed hiking at the lake, met a couple of dogs on leash, including one 20 pound dog, and did very well. She enjoyed her time and was well behaved. We have not seen her around kids but we will update her information as we learn more. She loves wrestling and chasing with all the dogs in her foster home. Once everybody has finished playing, she’s happy to lay down and chew a Benebone. She loves car rides and does very well in the car. She has good house manners and has not been destructive in her foster home. She is potty trained and sleeps all night in her crate with no fuss or accidents. We always suggest keeping new dogs on a consistent potty schedule until they’re well acclimated into their new home. She’s shown no signs of separation anxiety in her foster home. Hazelnut’s ideal home would have an active dog buddy for her to romp with, and an active family that wants to include her in fun outings. Hazelnut loves other dogs, she loves to play with the dogs in her foster home, and she also participates in our shelter playgroups. Check out her playgroup videos here:If you’re interested in adopting Hazelnut, please email her foster family at [email protected].
