Female Dog, Border Collie

Border Collie / Mixed (Medium Coat)

Description:

Border Collie mix, female puppyMeet Koda. Koda was found in the fields near Tulare alongside Disco (adopted). They hitched a ride together, but Koda has been in hibernation the last few days - completely shut down. Koda is 5 months and 15lbs - not slated to get too much bigger. We’ll call her a micro border collie mix. Well, the tiny bear cub has emerged from her den and is ready to explore. Koda may look like she could wrestle for salmon but in reality, she’s a soft, sensitive soul who’s still figuring out that the world isn’t so scary. When she sees people, her instinct is to retreat back into her “den,” but with a little patience and a lot of food…she starts to peek out. And when she does? That’s where the magic is. Once Koda feels safe, her inner bear cub comes alive: Curious little sniffs turn into brave explorations. And yes…she absolutely believes in eating everything in sight like she’s preparing for the next winter. Koda is looking for a calm, understanding home - one that will let her come out of hibernation at her own pace. No rush, no pressure… just love, snacks, safety in a routine, and ideally another balanced dog or two to help guide her. She loves her own kind and would likely be just fine with cats too. Underneath that shy exterior is a loyal, gentle companion who just needs someone to believe in her. This pocket sized bear cub is now located in Atascadero, CA. She is microchipped, spayed, and UTD on vaccines. More photos and updates: https://www.facebook.com/www.cchdrescue.org/ search in posts and photo albums. Interested in Koda?
