Male Dog, Chow Chow

Chow Chow / Mixed (Short Coat)

Description:

#A5728250 Say hello to Simba , our 5-year-old Chow mix with a heart as warm as his gorgeous cognac coat! ✨ With his adorable “worried” forehead wrinkles, folded ears, and cute black tongue spots, this handsome boy is full of charm and character. He’s got a little extra fluff around the middle right now (who doesn’t?), but with a healthy diet and some fun strolls, he’ll be in tip-top shape in no time. Don’t let his size fool you - Simba is gentle, cooperative, and easy to walk, always happy to follow your lead. He’s shown curiosity toward other dogs and may do well with calm canine friends once he’s settled in - especially the ladies, as he can be a bit selective about other boys. Smart, food-motivated, and full of love, Simba’s dream is simple: to find a cozy home where he can cuddle close and cover his people in kisses. Come scoop up this big sweetie today! -5 year old brown and black Chow mix -94 pound neutered male -up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today! -came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 9/22/25 as a stray -lush cognac coat with rich black accents, but wiry and easy to care for, with the most adorable "worried" little forehead wrinkles, folded ears, and unique black spots on his tongue -a bit on the chonky side, which is undeniably cute, but will look and feel even better if he can lose 10 or so pounds (with the right diet, this will be a breeze!) -don't be intimidated by his size! he is easy going, cooperative (especially on leash), and takes direction and correction from his people well -on alert in the chaotic shelter environment, he has still shown some curiosity about pups in adjacent play yards, so once he's had some time to decompress, he may easily make canine friends - especially calm females, as he can be a bit selective - smart cookie that is *very* food motivated, which will make any additional training a breeze - wants nothing more than to snuggle close and get cuddles, then will smother you in all the kisses!
