I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog I:5Meet Tay, a 2-year-old, 78-pound pittie mix with a gentle soul and a goofy streak just starting to shine. She seemed a little stoic at first, but with time and space she has blossomed into a sweet, affectionate companion who loves pets, gives kisses, and shows off her adorable, silly side when chasing tennis balls. Tay walks nicely on leash, knows how to sit, takes treats with a soft mouth, and is tolerant of handling, including baths and nail trims. Volunteers have loved watching her confidence grow and seeing just how loving she can be once she feels safe. Around other dogs, Tay tends to keep to herself and move away if she feels unsure. When comfortable, she enjoys chase-style play. She would do best either as a solo dog or with a well-matched canine companion. Tay is looking for a patient home that will let her decompress at her own pace. In return, you’ll get a sweet and seriously lovable best friend.
